This series explores the tension between individual existence, urban density, and spatial dynamics through the lens of a female City Flâneuse. It investigates the state of introverted solitude within bustling environments, seeking emotional "safe havens" amid concrete landscapes.

Utilizing a water-based mixed-media approach (watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, structural glue, and collage), the layered textures mirror the physical fractures and emotional temperatures of the metropolis. The work functions as both a re-examination of urban geography and an autoethnographic monologue for those navigating social anxiety.

  • Feminist Psychogeographical Observation: Breaking away from rational cartography to reconstruct urban spatial structures through female subjective emotions and sensory perception.

  • Material Assemblage & Tactile Collage: Pitting water, ink, structural glue and pigments against each other to respond to the tactile misalignment between rigid urban concrete and delicate human skin.

  • Autoethnographic Visual Monologue:  Transforming personal introversion, social anxiety, and solitude into a primary research sample to dissect the pervasive isolation of modern urbanites.

Soul Journey marks a pivotal shift in my practice—moving from the external psychogeography of the city to an inward, self-reflective landscape. Born in July 2021 with an intuitive sketch of an abandoned Buddha head resting in a lake, and the project evolves into two complementary branches: 《大佛之森》 (Inner Peace)  and  《燃烧的平原》 (Inner Passion).

Together, the two branches constitute a complete spiritual journey—from introspection to acceptance, from serenity to passion—ultimately arriving self-consistency.

  • Autoethnographic Emotional Mapping: Deploying giant Buddha heads as visual metaphors for internal emotional gravity, translating volatile feelings into serene, self-contained sanctuaries.

  • Organic Materiality & Imperfection Aesthetics: Utilizing desized 120g mixed-media paper to integrate natural age-spots with pearlescent watercolor, acrylic, and structural gel, transforming physical instability into tactile warmth.

  • Acoustic Allegory & Narrative Progression : Structuring the Zine Inner Peace around a musical metaphor—gathering notes to compose one's own score—symbolizing the digestion of external input to construct an autonomous inner system and attract resonant peers.

In-Between Gallery

In-Between Gallery centers on the original IP Ms. Leopard, which is an original art IP in continuous development, centered on a white-haired, golden-eyed woman who is the incarnation of a snow leopard. Ms.Leopard possesses both the acumen and elegance of a human, while retaining the autonomy and spirituality of a beast. She wanders through a mythical realm composed of abandoned Jiangnan gardens, Eastern artifacts, and the cyclical time of the Chinese zodiac, affirming that "I, in this place and at this moment, am authentic." Rooted in Jiangnan architectural heritage and existential philosophy, the project traverses overgrown ruined gardens, fantasy flora, and antique artifacts to balance reality and illusion.

  • Existential Spatial Metaphor & Jiangnan Poetics: Translating the traditional Chinese aesthetic of "modesty and restraint" (as seen in Changzhou gardens) into liminal narrative spaces to explore existential authenticity amid natural decay.
  • Feminist Avatar & Deconstruction of the Male Gaze: Deploying the feline archetype (Ms.Leopard) to subvert passive feminine tropes, culminating in interactive zine structures (Curio Shelf ) that empower audience tactile agency over rigid visual hierarchies.
  • Tactile Crossover & Paper Engineering: Blending acrylic on paper, pearlescent pigment, glitter, and magnetic/slide-box mechanisms to bridge commercial accessibility with experimental artist book design.
